Gumbo at the Nancy Victor Gallery
A thousand apologies for my tardiness in putting up new posts dear readers.
Gumbo illustration currently has a second installment of its a rather fine show 'Blue Suede Shoes' on at the Nancy Victor Gallery in London Town. This is the second exhibition we have had, following on from the Artsdepot in Finchey a few months ago.
Copies of the Blue Suede Shoes book can be purchased, as well Giclee prints from the booklet.
This is a new gallery full of charm and character, and the show looks really wonderful, so do pop along if you're around

Fiji Map - Jetstar Magazine
I recently did a little Map of Fiji (the main island Vitu Levu to be more precise) for Ink Publishing in Singapore, who produce Jetstar Magazine for the Australian Airline of the same name.
It was a nice opportunity to work on a map illustration which I haven't done for a while, and a really enjoyable project. Sadly a free flight to Fiji to really soak up the atmosphere wasn't included with this job, but we can all dream.

Blue Suede Shoes Exhibition
I thought I'd post up a few images from the recent Gumbo Collective 'Blue Suede Shoes' exhibition earlier this month, including my 2 pieces of artwork for the show.
The whole thing was a really enjoyable experience and I look forward to other Gumbo projects in the future. Many thanks to Eivind Gulliksen for taking photos during the private view.
The show runs until the end of May so do pop down to the Arts Depot in North Finchley if you're able.

It was a real pleasure to attend the opening night of Falmouth College of Arts Illustration retrospective last night at the Illustration Cupboard in London's Piccadilly.
The show runs from 3-12 February and contains work produced by former students (myself included), of the BA(Hons) Illustration course at the College.
Check out the show if you're in town: http://www.illustrationcupboard.com/default_flash.aspx

New Mexico
Happy new year dear readers! Here's looking forward to a year of unparalleled creativity. There's some exciting projects in the pipeline for the early part of this year including an exhibition, a shop and a new website so keep those eyes peeled for more info.
In the meantime, I've just finished this new image for the news pages of my agents website. The image commemorates the 6th of January 1912, when New Mexico became the 47th State of the U.S

Little Morreton Hall
I've just finished working on this image of Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire which is owned by the National Trust.
The late medieval courtyard manor house is one of the finest examples of timber framed architecture in England. So picturesque is the house that it has been described as “a ginger bread house lifted straight from a fairy story”
I think I'll take a break from wooden beams for a while
